District Conference Update
20/02/2018 By Graeme Thompson

Its now less than a month to go to our District Conference.  Please make sure that everyone is aware and encouraged to come to this.  There is a lot of cost and effort being put into this event in order to make it fun and informative for all those involved in Scouting in our District.  If you haven't yet registered (there is an online form) then be prepared to be chased by your ADC, the District Team, your Group Scout Leader or even me!  Lets have a great day with all the District Leaders and Exec members together.  Graeme

Invite to the District Conference on 18th March
08/01/2018 By Graeme Thompson

All Leaders, Group Exec Members and their partners are warmly invited to the District Conference on Sunday 18th March to be held at the Open Learning Centre in Bracknell.  This is a major opportunity for everyone across the District to get together, to get to know each other better, to share best practice and to learn how we can all deliver even better Scouting to those Young People in our areas.

Each Group is requested to set up a stand in the main hall to show off the things that their Group has been doing over the past couple of years.  You may arrive from 9am to set up and then everyone is invited to arrive from 10am to wonder round the Group Stands, and chat over coffee or tea.

A more formal set of presentations will take place from 11am with an opening address by me, the new DC and then I hope a series of short but informative sessions from key members across the District covering Executive/Adminstrative topics, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers, Young Leaders and more.

Lunch will be provided and there will be activities for children to do it you wish to bring your own children.  After lunch the last series of presentations will be short and finish by 2.30pm so that everyone can be away by 3pm.

We have not had such a conference for a few years, so I strongly hope that as many people attend as possible to make this a truly worthwhile event.

Best regards

Graeme Thompson

District Commissioner
